Anything Goes!
"Those who are about to die, we salute you."
When: Thursday, January 17th. 1900 Eve Time Where: Gamis <----Note, location is the same as last week!
What: No holds barred this week! Last week people seemed to be having a blast for those who wanted to bring battleships... and who wouldn't really, since you can fully insure one and minimize your loss that way, so this week Fly whatever you want! That's right, bring your favorite ship and favorite fittings (though I suggest not making them too expensive since you're probably going to get blown up).
We'll be forming up in Gamis again this week since the folks down south have really big balls and aren't afraid to engage us even if outnumbered a little bit.
BRING EWAR. Webs and scrams are needed.
We'll begin forming the fleet at 1800. This is a suicide mission, so plan to die a horrible death somewhere out in 0.0. I recommend getting your ship nearby a day or more early.
Bring Friends!
Prizes will be offered to the people who score KBs on anything we kill, based on the value of the kill. Last week I ended up giving out 393m in bounties!
This event will be covered LIVE on Eve-Radio.
If you ask anyone who comes on these suicide rides, we have a TON of fun. Fleets typically range from 40-50 pilots and you'll be cheered on by hundreds in the in game channel, Eve Radio. So leave your expensive implants at home and come on down to join the fun!

Since where throwing in large battleships this time...wouldnt it be verrrry handy to try to get everyone setup for a plate+remote repper setup? Otherwise we'll still be dying like flys... I know where going to die anyway, but i guess its best to take as much with us as possible
And since where flying battleships this time....we might need some snipers and tacklers .
Anyway, my 0.02 isk.
Would be very handy, but I wouldn't want to force anyone into that... I was thinking for a future fleet to have that as a subtheme and get a few repping ships. I think it'll be more effective as our fleet sizes get bigger.
If we get a good turnout this week though, I'm thinking for next week we put together a fleet of t1 destroyers and go out to Goon Space and see what they've got.

Yeah, even when we've had vent or TS targets still need to be relayed to chat. We don't have to call them out on ER though, fleet chat is plenty, that's my bad.... since it seems everyone we fight is listening to the play by play.
Also keep in mind you get the ER stream about 10 seconds after what's said was actually said.

You should be fine, unless you bring a lockdown blackbird, I doubt you'll be called primary.

Ok final tally was 1 Frigate, 2 Dictors, 1 Battlecruiser and 1 Recon ship. Total bounties paid today were 101m ISK.
Sadly I was unable to broadcast the even due to my connection overseas to Europe being crap today... hopefully it clears up for next week.
re Lag: Yeah, it was pretty nasty. Up to now we haven't had more than 100 ships TOTAL on both sides in the fight. We have 77 in our fleet today, local in Doril which is where the big fight went down was at 163 or something. Fleet battles like that with so many people usually do lag a bit, it was unfortunate, I know a lot of people on our side couldn't target or shoot anything.
Grats to AAA for wiping us out... at least you didn't resort to cap ships.
Next week, we'll be grouping up somewhere else and the fleet theme will be Destroyers... I'll have more details posted in this forum in a couple days.

Originally by: Ethan Tomlinson god lighten up a bit.... when we realized it was eve radio fleet we thought it would be a great way to test our conditioning.
it was a fun fight as im sure it was for some of the eve radio listeners involved
we wern't all that serious about it but did want to stick to normal fleet MO
i hope the newer people had fun and like the prospect of having more fleet fights after this
The interdiction folks I think are a little disapointed they didn't get to fight with us instead.
I think a lot of our guys had fun... a lot really had it ruined for them with the lag. In a situation like that, the people jumping in system seem to be hit the worst with the lag since they have to load up their own fleet coming in as well as yours, whereas you've already got all your fleet loaded, only have to worry about the incs, so I think for the people who couldn't target or shoot, and only got 1-2 FPS and then realized they were blown up without being able to even shoot, I think those guys didn't have much fun at all... but that's not AAA's fault, that's gate queue +lag, and the further behind people came in the worse it was.
The only thing I'll say for next time is that you guys could have won that fight with half your numbers, it might have been about even with 1/3. The people in these fleets are not uber pilots by any stretch, they have no vent, and it usually takes us 5 jumps just to teach people to align, warp together, and hold on gates.
Again though, I don't fault AAA for anything. GF. In fact, you guys fight VERY well... a little out of our class sadly, but an ass beating for the ages just the same.

Yes no matter how much we get our asses beat, not one will ever be able to say that our fleet's pilots lack balls.
Another note for the future... you didn't need those dictor bubbles. We....don't....run.
